DEW didn’t begin with a business plan.
It began with a simple belief: that the most meaningful gifts aren’t measured by how much they cost, but by how much care they show.
That belief became even more personal during one of the most difficult chapters of my own life.
During a period of treatment, someone gave me a simple candle with the words “Brighter days ahead.”
It wasn’t extravagant, but it arrived at exactly the right moment.
Every time I looked at it, I was reminded that someone had taken the time to choose something with meaning. During a time when life felt uncertain, that small gesture gave me something I hadn’t realised I needed.
Hope.
I only ever lit it a handful of times because I wanted it to last. I still have it today, not because it is an extraordinary candle, but because of what it represents.
It reminded me just how powerful a thoughtful gift can be.
And that feeling became the inspiration behind DEW.
A love of giving
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved choosing gifts for other people. I’ve always believed the smallest details can make someone feel truly cared for, so I would spend time creating gifts that felt personal, thoughtful and genuinely useful, not simply something to tick a box.
Over the years, I found myself adding those little extra touches that could turn an ordinary gift into something memorable.
It was never about spending more.
It was about showing more care.
Yet whenever I needed to buy a gift myself, I often struggled to find exactly what I was looking for. There were beautiful gift boxes that felt impersonal, and practical gifts that lacked warmth. Too often, the easiest choice became flowers, chocolates, a bottle of wine or a gift voucher. Not because there was anything wrong with them, but because they were expected.
I wanted to create something different.

I look for products that feel useful, beautiful and genuinely worth giving, with a preference for independent British brands and makers, natural and organic ingredients wherever possible, and quality that can be seen and felt.
I also pay attention to how products are made and presented. From choosing glass packaging over plastic where possible to finding ways to minimise unnecessary packaging, I believe these details matter.
I'm particular about what goes into a DEW collection. Every product is there for a reason.
The aim is always the same: to create a beautiful, premium gift that feels considered from the moment it arrives.
A gift that means something
Because my hope has never been for someone to open a DEW collection and simply think:
“That’s lovely.”
I want them to pause for a moment and think:
“This is exactly what I needed.”
That is what thoughtful gifting means to me.
